Happy Birthday Gianfranco!

As I briefly said yesterday in my post.... October 18th is my uncle's birthday :)
He is now 24 (as I am). I forgot to mention him in the list of all the October family-friends birthdays (see a few posts ago). Therefore he has the right to one post just for him :)

In the picture you can see a picture of Margherita (my sister), Gianfranco (my uncle) and me (as you can see by the curly hear) in our school uniform. This picture dates probly of 1986/87... I can't really remember which year. It was in my first home in Lima.... in Los Naranjos Street :)
(ehm, the Ferrari t-shirt is not really part of the uniform... he was supposed to wear a white shirt instead...we are a "Ferrary family" though)

Grazie Fiorello!

I'm so happy!!!!! Viva Radio 2 started again and Fiorello and Marco Baldini just rock!
They make me laugh so much...and manage to make my day nicer! thanks :)
I feel more close to home this way.

They already started with new grate imitations and sentences that just make fun of ourselves as italians (in a nice way though)!

In italian: che ce frega che c'importa, san campioni del mondo e cantiamo popopopopopoooopo! :)
(from the show).... I love also the imitation of our Italian President, Napolitano...and the imitation of the the Noth Korean head of state...

Missing CH, Missing you

Originally I wanted to post something completely different... maybe about our travel to Washington, maybe about my uncle’s birthday today (Happy Birthday Gianfranco, 24!!!!) :), maybe about some interesting website I found or the net... but during the day everything changed.

As it's normal, when you are abroad, you have ups and downs (specially if you are a girl and Sagittarius...if I can add a bit superficially). Today is a bit down.

Everything started this morning with a song in the radio "Azzurro"....which is a great and positive song...but it brought back so many memories. I thought about Switzerland, about singing with my friends "Azzurro" in the disco (la Parf) and other songs such as "Sarà perchè ti amo".... great classic/vintage songs...usually played when the crowd is happy enough to just sing and dance on whatever music.

I miss my girls... Pina, Raffa, Sabri.... I miss being really stupid with you. But stupid in a different way... I just can't really explain...
The pictures I put here (up and below), kind of sintetize in some images those moments... but I have so many more in my mind (I don't have all those pics). About our travel to Sardegna, or Barcelona....and the night in Sitches (do we write it like that?).... and just missing ugly things as the Shakers in feuille de Banane.... the Italian Party in the HEI Cafeteria (and cleaning its floor at 5am....just before carrying 2 tons of garbage from one side to the other of the campus).

Some things today made me really miss all of that and the feeling of having friends around. I'm so looking forward to see you in December!!!

This does not mean that I am not enjoying the time spent here in Canada.... I just think its normal to have ups and downs...and I just wanted to thank you for all these memories together!

PS. This is my first kitch-mieloso-kind-of-emotional post in this blog... I hope you like it because it's probably one of the last ones... I don't like to write kitch-mieloso-kind-of-emotional things.... but I really wanted to share these pics, singing in my mind (just in my mind) the "Alexandrine Alexandra" music (so bad :S)

Lukas' Party Invitation

Happy Birthday Lukas, Dad, Raffaela, Nonna and Francesco

I'm back in Ottawa! After a great Canadian Thanks Giving long week-end (spent in Washington D.C...I'll post about that great city later). I worked from Tuesday to Friday in Toronto and celebrated Lukas' first quarter of century with a little party at his place.

Once again thank you to all those who made it to the party... despite such scary date. It was nice to have all of you there :) However, I wanted to have a Halloween-pumpkin-making competition (meaning to do a Halloween face on a real pumpkin) but Lukas put his veto on that :(

So, if you forgot to tell Lukas happy birthday...don't worry! I'm sure that if you send him a big present he will be happy to forgive you ;)
Ok... I have to stop using so many smiles when I write... it starts to be disturbing!
I will soon post some pictures from Washington and the Party in Toronto. Stay tuned for that and for more info about the intern's house party in Ottawa next week-end.

This month birthdays: my Dad, Raffaela, Nonna (my grandmather) and Francesco (my cousin)

Ottawa International Animation Festival

Interview with Bruno Bozzetto for Tele-30

(My little draw in the Animation Fair... I actually draw on that shining-screen...)

Tele-30, Rogers Channel 22 (Saturdays 6am, Sundays 5pm)

Pictures from the Rogers Studios for Channel 22 in Ottawa

Hey! I'm still alive :) and finally back to blogging.

I'm sorry I haven't been keeping you updated with my life here in Ottawa... but I have multiple good excuses:

1. I must confess... I can be lazy some times
2. busy : lot of work
3. busy : lot of traveling around
4. busy : lot of extra activities

So, hoping you accept my wonderful and great excuses and my apologizes for such a long silence: here a brief summary of the last couple of months:
  • After I came back from Boston, I went to NEW YORK with Lukas and Francesco.
  • Actually we first went to have breakfast in Boston with my Mummy (by bus through Montreal) and then took a 15$ Chinese bus that took us to China Town in New York. In New York we met with Cintia and Thiego (Brazilian trainees in Ottawa and Toronto) and Rita (Hungarian Trainee in Ottawa)
  • Oh! and between my arrival from Boston and my departure to New York... I moved to a new apartment :) Now we have a trainees house in Ottawa, where Rita, Cintia and I live together!
  • Then my Daddy came to visit me. So I went to Montreal to meet him.
  • Then we came back to Ottawa so that my dad and my cousin could help me set up my new apartment and bedroom while I was working.
  • Then we went to Toronto so that we could include Lukas in the travel (even though he came as well to Montreal for the week-end)
  • Then we went to Niagara Falls (just a few hours)
  • Then we went back to Montreal where Lukas and I said bye bye to Francesco and my Dad who left for Italy and Switzerland.
  • Then there was the International Animation Festival in Ottawa where I went to attend some panels with my company and also to cover the event for an Italian local TV Show: Tele-30 (Rogers TV, Channel 22).
  • Then there was the AIESEC Ontario Regional Conference where I helped a tiny little bit as a facilitator.
  • This week I contributed again presenting the Italian Community TV Show.
  • This Week-end will be a long one so I'm going to Toronto tomorrow to catch a flight on Saturday morning and spend the week-end in Washington D.C. with Lukas
I think this covers the whole month (without pictures though). I will post some pictures later on about all these different and great experiences in Ottawa :)
